SO HERE WE GO

In which I am part of a majority: I strongly dislike Kanye West. I loved his first album, quickly grew tired of his sophomore album, and could barely listen to his third. He became predictable and played out. Also, even though he is doing something completely new different with 808s & Heartbreak, I have strongly disliked every single that has come out thus far. So how can you explain the below information?

: I heard the entire album (a few times through) today and absolutely love it. It's an incredibly complete album with a perfect length and the use of auto-tune stylistically works surprisingly well. If T-Pain is killing auto-tune as soon as the end of the "Can't Believe It" remix leads us to believe (listen to 5:05 on for evidence), I'm honestly really proud that this is the swan song. It's the perfect ending to the bitter-sweet relationship that I'm assuming all of us have had with auto-tune.

PS: props for the Kate Bush production.

For your consideration:
Kanye West's "Welcome to Heartbreak"

VS.
Kate Bush's "Running Up that Hill"

  1. mind you, this review doesn't account for the "Pinocchio Story (Freestyle Live From Singapore) (Bonus)" atrocity

    bonus tracks don't count
