DANSE DU SERPENTINE

I've been looking at movement. This is Loie Fuller in 1896 as one of the first dancers to work with light as a focused source. She covered her body in fluorescents and died of radium poisoning.

  1. How did they film in color in 1896? Or am I am just stupid about post production.

    Either way this is amazing

  2. they had people hand paint it, frame by frame.

later on came a sorta of dying system, or stamping, where they could do multiple frames at a time. but yeah, it was tedious work that was given to a staff of women primarily
